Omar Zanela

Consultant in Health Economics and Access

With more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector in Mexico and Latin America, Omar has served as a leader of multinational pharmaceutical, medical devices and medtech companies. His previous responsibilities include the health economics, outcomes research and strategic pricing center of excellence lead for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean at Johson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, the commercial leadership of the minimally invasive and trauma integral solutions business unit, as well as the health economics & market access function for Mexico at Johnson & Johnson MedTech. The therapeutic areas & diseases under his scope include obesity, diabetes, general and laparoscopic surgery, electrophysiology, orthopedics, oncology, hematology and immunology, among others.

Omar holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics by Tec de Monterrey, a master’s degree in Economics by Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas CIDE, a master’s degree in Finance by Tec de Monterrey, and is a PhD Candidate in innovation and social responsibility by Universidad Anáhuac, all of them in Mexico City.
